Paleontology Sites

Liaoning Province

Located in the Liaoning Province of northeastern China, Liaoning dates to the Mesozoic Era, Cretaceous Period (120mya). Fossils have been found in mudstone and compressed volcanic ash, ash which has fallen from Inner Mongolia for the past 100 million years. This site has been excavated since 1994.
