Paleontology Sites

White Sea

Located in the Russian Beloje, almost next to the Arctic Ocean, the White Sea is situated on a continental shelf. The White Sea site contains fossils dating from the Precambrian era, the Vendian Period (600 mya). Fossils lie in layers of sandstone.
